    Irish Trophy Golf Photos

The inaugural Irish Golf Trophy Tournament held on the 11th July 2010 on the lush greens of Tasek Putri Golf and Country Club in Rawang, Selangor, Malaysia proved to the organisers expectations, to be a truly relaxing yet challenging event.  It will indeed be a day to remember.

The weather was initially overcast causing many to wonder if the tourney would truly get underway.  However as it neared starting time, miraculously from behind the clouds there appeared in true Irish fashion a silver lining which in the end drove away all the dark and gloomy clouds and brought warmth and sunshine to the green earth as well as to the hearts of the participants.

Tee off started at about 1.30 a little later than scheduled as some of the participants were delayed but in the end there was an excellent turn out of 58 participants.

It was indeed a fun filled event where all 3 sister constitutions were well represented and the air was throughout always filled with some banter between the members of each flight.  All the participants showed great skill and determination in completing the course and there were many good shots played all throughout as well as difficult situations avoided and saved.  The level of play was indeed above expectation.

Play ended in the early evening and all participants made their way for a hearty Chinese 7 course dinner held at the nearby Chin Hiong Restaurant.  The food was excellent ad thus it was a continuation of the excellent fellowship enjoyed and  seen on the golf course only a short time ago.  Dinner talk of course centred around “the good, the bad, and the ugly” which had been earlier dished out on the course, which was exchanged with lively good cheer and banter.

The emcee for the evening was Worshipful Brother Rodney Teoh who carried the evening through so well in his customary light hearted fashion.  The dinner was further enlivened when the prizes for most of the winning categories were presented to the participants by Right Worshipful Brother Lau Kee Siong the Grand Inspector.   The grand winners for the Irish Trophy however were not presented with their prize that evening as that presentation has been specially reserved for the evening of the 23rd July 2010 in the Bintang Ballroom of the Cititel Hotel Kuala Lumpur venue of the Banquet to celebrate the Constitution of the Provincial Grand Lodge of South East Asia which will be grand occasion indeed during which the victors will receive their due recognition.

We trust all who participated enjoyed themselves and that they and others will be back for next year’s tournament which will be announced at the appropriate time.  We congratulate the organisers on a magnificent effort which brought about magnificent results and wish the Irish Trophy Tournament continued and unending success.

    The Irish Trophy Golf Tournament

If you have yet to hear about this, we are indeed pleased to highlight a forthcoming event in this region for the fostering of brotherly love and benevolence,  characteristics which freemasons the world over are well known for.  This time it is in the form of The Irish Trophy Golf Tournament which has been organized especially to commemorate the consecration of the Provincial Grand Lodge of South East Asia under the Grand Lodge of Ireland  to be held on the 23rd July 2010 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The Irish Trophy tournament is to be held on the lush greens of Tasek Putri Golf and Country Club in Rawang, Selangor a venue which the organisers trust will be truly conducive to a relaxing yet challenging day.  The date to remember is the 11th July 2010.

The organisers further hope that this tourney will continue to feature  annually on the Masonic activities calendar so as to be one of the many ways in which freemasons  continue to do their part for charity and at the same time strengthen ties already existing between masons from all sister constitutions.

Appended is the notice of this tournament by the organisers which sets out the details of this upcoming event: -
