NEWEST IRISH PROVINCIAL GRAND LODGE

We are proud and happy to announce the consecration of the latest Irish Provincial Grand Lodge holden under the Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Ireland namely "THE PROVINCIAL GRAND LODGE FOR SOUTH EAST ASIA"  on the 23rd of July (Friday) 2010 in the city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. After years of planning this labour of love and effort spearheaded by the Grand Inspector for the Inspectorate of South East Asia under the Grand Lodge of Ireland, Right Worshipful Bro. Lau Kee Siong supported by many other stalwarts and able brethren and most importantly receiving approbation from the ground, saw the rising of the newest Provincial Lodge under the Irish Constitution of Freemasonry which brings under its wings Irish Lodges in the region namely St Patrick Lodge, No. 765 (Singapore); Emerald-in-the-East Lodge, No. 830 (Kuala Lumpur); Morakot Lodge, No. 945(Bangkok); Lion of Erin Lodge, No. 934 (Singapore);  Songkhla Lodge, No. 936  (Hatyai); Shamrock-in-Penang Lodge, No. 938 (Penang); and Harmony Lodge, No. 934 (Kuala Lumpur).

It certainly was a ceremony to behold and remember as it lived up to its billing as the most momentous occasion in Irish Freemasonry in this region since the formation of the Inspectorate, which has been leading Irish Freemasonry here for the past 56 years since 1954, the year the St Patrick Lodge was established in Singapore.

Brethren masons from all over the world attended this historic occasion which was held at the Cititel Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.  There was a formal banquet following the Consecration ceremony on the evening of the 23rd July 2010 at 7.30 p.m. where the brethren accompanied by their good ladies and guests were in attendance.

Apart from the brethren from sister lodges and sister consitutions in the region, Freemasons and Masonic personages from around the region and from other parts of the world attended thus adding colour and gaiety to this fraternal occasion, and thus further strengthening the ties already in place by reason of the tenets of Freemasonry we subscribe to namely benevolence and brotherly love.
